The Barrier

Fence height, measured from the ground outside at every change in level
Gaps under and within the barrier
The 900mm non-climbable zone, including plants, furniture and equipment
Boundary fences and house walls that form part of the barrier

Gates swing away from the pool and self-close and self-latch from any position
Latch height and shielding
Windows and doors opening into the pool area

Your Questions Answered

Does the council issue pool safety certificates?

No. In Queensland, pool safety certificates (Form 23) are issued by QBCC-licensed pool safety inspectors. Local councils enforce the pool safety laws, can inspect pools, and must be notified by the inspector if a pool isn't reinspected within 3 months of a Form 26.

Which parts of Moreton Bay do you cover?

The Redcliffe Peninsula, North Lakes and surrounds, and the Pine Rivers district, including Strathpine, Petrie, Warner, Albany Creek and Eatons Hill. See all service areas.

Do you inspect shared pools in unit and townhouse complexes?

Yes. We inspect shared pools for body corporates and property managers across the region. A shared pool certificate is valid for 1 year, and must be displayed at the main entrance or pool gate.

Are reinspections free anywhere in Moreton Bay?

Yes. Reinspections are free on the Redcliffe Peninsula (including Woody Point and Rothwell), and in North Lakes, Mango Hill and Deception Bay. A $120 reinspection fee applies in other areas.
