Why do glass pool fences near the coast need special attention in Scarborough?

Salt air speeds up corrosion in fence hardware. Even a fence that looks fine can fail if a hinge, latch or spring has corroded to the point where the gate no longer self-closes and self-latches. I test how every gate and hinge actually works, not just how it looks.

My garden has mature trees and shrubs near the pool. Will that cause a fail?

It can. Nothing within 900mm of the outside of the fence can provide a foothold, and established gardens often grow branches, pots or garden edging into that zone over the years without anyone noticing. I identify these issues and recommend the least invasive fix that still protects your garden's privacy.

I'm selling my Scarborough property. When do I need a certificate?

If you have a current certificate, you give the buyer a copy before settlement. If you don't, you must give the buyer a Form 36 before the contract is entered into, and give it to the QBCC before settlement. The buyer then has 90 days after settlement to get a certificate. An inspection before you list means no surprises during the sale.
