Petrie Pool Safety Inspections

Established homes, acreage pockets and a growing university town by the North Pine River. Licensed pool safety inspections in Petrie for sales, leases and peace of mind.

Local Knowledge

From Riverside Acreage to Townhouses Near the Mill

Petrie has changed a lot since the old paper mill site became a university campus. Alongside established family homes and larger blocks near the North Pine River, there are more townhouses and units, and more rental properties for students and staff.

Larger blocks often mean longer pool fences, more gates and more places for things to go wrong. Townhouse and unit complexes with a shared pool have a different timeline too: a shared pool certificate is only valid for one year.

What We Check

Common Issues in Petrie

Large Blocks & Long Fences

Every metre of the barrier is checked, including fence lines that run past sheds, garden beds and slopes on bigger blocks.

Shared Pools

Pools in townhouse and unit complexes are inspected for body corporates and property managers, including common-area gates.

Timber & Older Fences

Timber and older steel fences are checked for gaps, loose palings, rot, rust and horizontal rails that could be climbed.

Every Petrie Inspection Includes

  • A full check of the pool barrier against the Queensland pool safety standard
  • Form 23 pool safety certificate issued and lodged with the QBCC the same day when the pool complies
  • Video repair guidance with every Form 26 nonconformity notice, to pass on to your tradie
  • Inspection by Neil Sharp, QBCC Licence PS15235214

Petrie FAQs

Your Questions Answered

Our Petrie property is on acreage. Does the whole yard need to be fenced?

No. The barrier only needs to enclose the pool area, but it must meet the standard all the way around, including every gate. On larger blocks we check the full length of the pool fence and the non-climbable zone along it.

How often does a shared pool need a new certificate?

A pool safety certificate for a shared pool is valid for one year. For a house with its own pool it is valid for two years. A current certificate is needed whenever a property with a pool is sold or leased.

How much is a reinspection in Petrie?

A $120 reinspection fee applies in Petrie. If your pool gets a Form 26 nonconformity notice, you have 3 months to fix the listed items, and the reinspection is done by the same inspector within that window.

I recently used Brisbane Pool Safety for a pool certification/compliance for an install that we did inside an existing pool fenced area. I found the advice and technical support to be great, and Niel's pragmatic approach to assist in ensuring the build was efficient at the same time compliant was excellent.
